Abstract
Economic corruption is one of the major challenges faced by countries worldwide, significantly affecting economic, social, and political development. Criminal policy plays a crucial role in preventing and controlling these corrupt activities, with the goal of reducing corruption levels, enhancing transparency, and ensuring social justice. Various tools of criminal policy include the enactment of anti-corruption laws, strengthening oversight and auditing, and utilizing new technologies to clarify economic activities. In this context, fostering cooperation among governmental, judicial, and social institutions, particularly media and civil society, is of paramount importance.Alongside strengthening legal and executive aspects, criminal policy should focus on preventing economic corruption by creating healthy and corruption-resistant economic environments. Public education, cultural change, and enhancing transparency in government and private sector operations can contribute to reducing economic corruption. This article examines effective criminal policies for preventing and controlling economic corruption and suggests strategies to improve these policies.
