Abstract
The main objective of the research is to explain the international requirements of the Iranian government regarding the control and reduction of greenhouse gas emissions. This research is designed based on the library method and the use of primary sources, and while using books, reputable scientific articles, theses and specialized internet resources, it focuses specifically on Latin sources, because Persian sources in this field are limited. The analysis approach is descriptive-analytical and, if necessary, other methods have been used to supplement the data. The research findings show that elevating the status of environmental treaties to the level of human rights treaties can help strengthen their weight and credibility in international law. Also, structural and normative reforms in the domestic legal system provide the basis for the development and promotion of environmental standards. Accordingly, achieving the goals of combating global climate change requires that governments, and especially the Iranian government, impose specific obligations to reduce greenhouse gas emissions relative to the past. In addition, the establishment of criminal laws appropriate to the circumstances to deal with possible violations is an undeniable necessity.
