In Islam, for the position of judge, which is a religious position, certain characteristics have been stated, and these characteristics and attributes, which are referred to as the conditions of a judge, must be determined by law. In general, the qualities of a judge can be divided into two general categories; one category is considered a condition for the validity and influence of the ruling, but there is another category of conditions that are not a condition for the validity and influence of the ruling. Puberty, reason, faith, justice, and being a man are among the conditions of the first category, and jurists agree on this matter, but there are differences of opinion among jurists regarding the conditions of the second category, such as writing, sight, and hearing. Since there is no conclusive evidence that can prove the validity of the requirement of sight for holding the position of judge, it has caused differences of opinion among jurists in this regard. In this article, we intend to examine the arguments of those in favor of and against the requirement of sight in judgment and reach a conclusion in this regard, which is that the results of the research indicate that the judgment of a blind person is subject to the generality and applicability of evidence, and there is no obstacle to the judgment of a blind person.
