Artificial intelligence, as one of the new technologies in the judicial system, has created a fundamental change in the criminal procedure process. With its ability to analyze large amounts of data, predict judicial processes, and accelerate crime detection, this technology plays an effective role in improving the efficiency of the judicial system. However, the use of artificial intelligence in criminal proceedings also brings with it important legal challenges, including the risk of violating the independence of judges, threats to individual freedoms, and considerations related to privacy. Therefore, the use of this technology must be carried out within a strict legal framework and in compliance with the principles of justice and human rights in order to maintain a balance between the efficiency of technology and the fundamental rights of individuals. Along with this development, the position of criminal procedure actors such as judges, prosecutors, lawyers, and defendants has also undergone changes that require a review of the legal and judicial education system. Specialized training in new technologies and familiarity with the legal aspects of artificial intelligence are essential for promoting justice and ensuring sound decision-making in the judicial system. By examining the applications and challenges of artificial intelligence in criminal proceedings, this article emphasizes the importance of comprehensive regulation and the creation of support structures so that smart technologies become an effective tool for achieving justice and preventing violations of individual rights.
