In an accelerated era where the boundary between nature and technology is intertwined in an unprecedented way, environmental crime is no longer just a threat to natural resources, but also a challenge to the legitimacy of human civilization. By combining advanced approaches in environmental criminology, philosophy of technology, and data-driven criminality, this research formulates a new concept titled “technological prevention”; a concept in which technology is considered not only a tool for detecting and controlling crime, but also part of society’s moral memory in dealing with the environment. By critically analyzing traditional practices of responding to environmental crimes and examining the emerging capabilities of technologies such as ethical artificial intelligence, biosensors, justice-oriented algorithms, the environmental Internet of Things, and participatory blockchain systems, this article presents an intelligent and ethical model for preventive governance. Findings suggest that integrating these technologies into environmental criminal policy can redefine the concept of “crime,” re-engineer the boundaries of “justice,” and reconstruct the human–nature relationship.
